About Our Client
Our client is a specialist global polymer manufacturer based in Allerdale, Cumbria.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a global polymer manufacturing organisation based in Allerdale, Cumbria.
The Supply Chain Manager will develop the plant procurement strategy to ensure availability of quality materials and services to comply with all Supply Chain requirements, whilst owning & driving the cost reduction program; Produce the production schedule; Manage any production variances; Managing the continuity of supply of goods and services; And manage product life-cycle (product introduction and phasing out) in accordance with policy and procedures
Negotiate, draft, implement, and manage supplier contracts and service level agreements.You will also implement and optimise effective inventory management strategies; Manage the inventory of both raw materials and finished goods; Support management of warehouse and logistic; Closely work with internal key partners; Draft and Implement Procurement and Supply Chain policies, procedures and initiatives; Conduct supplier and subcontractor analysis, evaluate potential new suppliers, and manage the overall supplier qualification process; Monitor & review metrics to manage the supplier performance; Conduct and manage supplier audits; Pro-actively participate in the customer relationship management process; And ensure optimal use of SAP MRP functionality.
You will also be involved in areas of risk management, change management and continuous improvement.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have extensive experience within Supply Chain Management with strengths in procurement / purchasing and driving cost reductions with suppliers. You will also have direct experience
Ideally you will have a Bachelors degree or CIPS (level 6), and experience working with ERP systems.
You will also be familiar with dangerous goods and hazardous substance purchasing requirements.
