Job Description

  1. Supporting the Group Corporate Tax Manager in preparing the UK Tax Group corporation tax computations for (currently) 7 active companies and 2 dormant companies.
  2. Prepare estimates for quarterly corporation tax payments on account.
  3. Identify qualifying R&D for tax credit claims, build claim from relevant costs and activities, and submit claim through revised Computation.
  4. Identify patented product sales for a key business unit and calculate Patent Box claim for inclusion in revised Computation.
  5. Prepare the quarterly (moving to monthly) VAT return.
  6. Complete and file the bimonthly Irish VAT returns.
  7. Proactively monitor VAT compliance including the evaluation of transactions and potential for misstatement of Return values.
  8. Working with the Group Tax Compliance Manager develop an internal audit programme to ensure VAT compliance.
  9. Monitor import/export practices in relation to declarations, use of tariff codes and potential for duty misstatement.
  10. Assist with PAYE compliance where required to including CIS and IR35.
  11. Manage the Group's transfer price policies, to include updating Master Files, functional analysis for local files, and general review and advice.
  12. Support HMRC enquiries and audits in conjunction with professional advisors.
  13. Provide training, communications and explanations on effects of new tax related legislation.
  14. Assist Group Financial Director in meeting their SAO obligations.
  15. Maintain a current level of knowledge relevant to the needs of the wider group

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise workloads (essential)
  • Capable of interpreting and reporting data (essential)
  • Multi-entity transactions and reconciliations
  • Advanced Excel to pivot tables and look ups, Proficient PC skills (essential)
  • Able to establish working relationships from distance with minimal face to face interaction and able to influence local finance teams
