FULL DESCRIPTION:

Equities Technology deals with all "Run the Bank" activities, including production support 1st & 2nd line (Incident & Problem management & Root Cause Analysis), Environment/Configuration management, Change & Release management, Capacity Management, Risk & Control and minor projects / enhancements to production systems.

Purpose -

Equities Trade Floor Support provide highly responsive IT application support to Front Office trading teams using the Equities Trading platforms, ensuring rapid response to user technical and functional issues across a wide range of trading applications and multiple business lines.

  • The role will assist with the provision of high quality, bespoke support of the Electronic Trading plant which underpins the Cash Equity, Futures and QPS businesses
  • This role encompasses technical support, continuous service improvement, infrastructure architecture and project management.
  • The successful candidate will be based in Dublin and form part of a virtual team, supporting both Traders across European locations and will provide support to the Global Equities Trade Floor support team.

Key Accountabilities -

  • Providing end to end support service for front office users, the candidate will be expected to ensure we provide high availability support for the trading desk
  • Engaging with application owners to provide effective issue and problem management and rapid resolution
  • Proactive management of business critical real-time trading systems, identifying issues and potential problem areas. Track outstanding issues and work with the appropriate group to achieve resolution of them
  • Engagement with service owners and development teams to review planned changes that may impact application functionality or availability to Front Office users
  • Business engagement to ensure that trading systems are maintained and enhanced to meet current and ongoing control standards including data protection and security, delivery of trading information for regulatory reporting etc

Stakeholders -

  • Represent Technology on issues and escalations, respond to traders, sales people, client service groups or Operations teams for any issues or queries around functionality, usage and service quality
  • Support business users on general IT issues by involving the right team or coordinating with other regional teams, and facilitating engagement through partnership with other Technology Managers
  • Collaborate strongly and negotiate with vendor support teams and other third party groups within the organization, and negotiate and reach alignment with all stakeholders on a plan, and then collaborate with local management and lead through its execution

The Successful Applicant

Essential Skills / Basic Qualifications:

  • Similar experience in a similar role providing front office support to time critical applications
  • You must be confident to engage with business stakeholders, global colleagues and peers in other teams. In addition, you will be equally as comfortable working individually as you are working collaboratively as part of a global team. You must be comfortable with dealing directly with the trading desks
  • Demonstrable fundamental understanding of ITIL concepts and their implementation in the working environment
  • Ability to work in shifts to cover the core hours of the trading desks within Europe

Skills and Experience Essential:

  • Good understanding of concepts of trading business and end to end business process and workflows
  • Good working knowledge of operating system platforms (UNIX, Linux, SQL, Windows) and database and SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Scripting (eg. Python, perl, shell, bash)
  • Strong experience of client and exchange connectivity platforms with exposure to exchange APIs and market driven protocols
  • Exposure to network connectivity investigation and diagnostics and low latency, High Frequency Trading platforms of benefit

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial knowledge of asset classes such as Equities, Rates, FX, Commodities or Credit would be considered
  • Good understanding of one or more of the following: concepts of financial products risk management, awareness of financial instrument pricing, concepts of market data in front office applications
  • Degree in an IT or Mathematics related discipline
