About Our Client
My client is a fast growing fin tech. This role is based in west London.
Job Description
The Treasury Payments Manager will:
- Manage a dynamic team and the entire Payments process for a Global Payments firm, help the team develop and grow in their careers with a key focus on developing staff and facilitating a positive working environment. Identify and resolve poor performance in line with established policies
- Motivate and drive engagement within the team, work alongside the Transaction Operations Manager to communicate a clear vision for the team of its purpose within the business
- Foster an environment of initiative for new ideas and ownership when things don't go as planned, ensuring the team provide appropriate support to their key business stakeholders
- Ensure all daily team tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Act as a first escalation point for all payment-related queries
- Take ownership of all daily payment processes (Direct Debits, message approvals, outbound payment inputting and authorising, inbox management etc.)
- Drive process change and focus on improving team efficiency
- Train and develop Payments staff
- Work closely with the other Payments Team Leader to ensure all BAU tasks are completed
- Maintain a friendly and open team attitude that encourages all other employees to approach the Payments team with queries or concerns
- Support colleagues in the creation and analysis of key metric data
- Ensure that the team is working compliantly and mitigating risk using existing controls
- Continually develop knowledge of the payments area and industry as a whole
- Delegate all low level functions to the team - the role is a management oversight role
- Participate and chair regular team meetings
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous people management experience, but essential to have a desire to want to lead a team and really focus on the people aspect as well as the BAU process
- In-depth knowledge of UK and international payment systems (CHAPS, BACS, SWIFT etc)
- Excellent knowledge within peripheral areas such as Reconciliations and Investigations
