Job Description

As Vice President - Liquidity Risk Management, you will be a key contributor within the second line of defence, driving the identification, assessment, and oversight of liquidity risk across the bank. This is a high-impact role requiring strong technical expertise, deep familiarity with ILAAP, and proven influencing skills to partner with senior stakeholders across Treasury and Risk.

You will act as a critical friend to the Treasury function - providing robust, constructive challenge and strategic guidance on liquidity frameworks, stress testing, and regulatory submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the enhancement and governance of the ILAAP, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with best-in-class industry practices.
  • Identify key liquidity risk drivers and monitor exposures against internal and regulatory metrics (e.g., LCR, NSFR, PRA110, ILST).
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive liquidity risk framework, including limits, models, stress testing scenarios, and early warning indicators.
  • Provide critical challenge to Treasury strategies for managing liquidity, including cash reserve optimisation, funding facilities, and asset-liability matching.
  • Monitor and report on daily liquidity positions, highlighting key trends and potential risks to senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and support the development of contingency funding plans and responses to liquidity shortfalls or market disruptions.
  • Own and oversee the definition, calibration, and monitoring of liquidity risk limits in line with risk appetite.
  • Represent the Risk function in regulatory reviews and internal audits, clearly articulating methodology, governance, and controls.
  • Influence key stakeholders across Treasury, Finance, and Risk functions; acting as a trusted advisor.

The Successful Applicant

  • Substantial experience in liquidity risk, or balance sheet management within a bank.
  • Deep understanding of the UK regulatory landscape, including LCR, NSFR, PRA110, and in particular, end-to-end ILAAP ownership or significant contributions.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver and improve complex regulatory submissions and risk frameworks.
  • Strong influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills - with the gravitas to challenge senior stakeholders and build consensus across teams.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, regulatory-driven environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills, familiarity with financial instruments, stress testing methodologies, and liquidity forecasting techniques.

What's on Offer

  • Play a central role in shaping a strategic and regulatory-critical process (ILAAP).
  • Work in a collaborative environment with exposure to senior decision-makers and regulators.
  • Competitive compensation, flexible working, and a strong commitment to personal development.
  • Competitive salary, estimated at £110,000 to £140,000 per annum.
  • Permanent role offering stability and career advancement opportunities.
  • Hybrids role with the requirement of being in the office (City of London) only 1-2 days per week.
  • Please note, our client is unable to offer sponsorship at this time.
