Merchandising and supply chain

Merchandisers work hand-in-hand with buyers focusing on pricing to ensure that the decisions buyers make are commercially viable for the business. They look at previous sales to predict current and future patterns. Essentially they make sure that budgets are being kept to and sales targets are being met. People in the supply chain industry are responsible for getting a product from a supplier to a customer for fashion retailers.
Roles within this industry revolve around the design, planning, execution, management and monitoring of supply chain activities with the aim of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging global logistics, synchronising supply with demand and measuring performance.
