Working in production means you are responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of product. Typically, you will be very involved in costings, delivery dates and troubleshooting on any production issues which arise. You may also get involved in travelling to meet with factories and suppliers to build those relationships.
Product developers work very closely with design, often supporting research or selecting styles. The main part of the role involves managing the critical path, negotiating costs with factories, sourcing and developing fabrics, attending fit sessions with garment technologists and sometimes travelling to visit factories.
