Cisco Network Engineer

As the Cisco Network Engineer, you will be instrumental in a large-scale refresh of core switching, firewall infrastructure, identity services, and network inventory governance. This is not a support role - it's a hands-on engineering position where you will design, build, migrate and deliver real transformation.Day-to-day you will:

• Lead Major Core Upgrades - Take ownership of Cisco core switch replacements, including Catalyst 9600 deployments, across critical enterprise sites.
• Deliver High-Impact Security Projects - Execute firewall upgrades, new deployments, and FMC implementations within live production environments.
• Drive Cisco ISE Implementation - Design and roll out enterprise LAN authentication solutions with full policy integration and handover.
• Work on a Structured Transformation Programme - Contribute to a clear pipeline of core, edge, security, and inventory modernisation projects.
• Operate in a Complex, Business-Critical Environment - Apply high-level Layer 3 expertise while delivering change with minimal disruption.
• Hands-On, Delivery-Focused Contract Role - Ideal for senior engineers who enjoy ownership, technical depth, and measurable outcomes. The role will be 5 days per week on-site, dedicated to 1 of 3 sites in the South Wales region, all easily commutable from Cardiff.
