Job Description

The RoleAs Finance Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of income accounting and collection, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement across processes.You will play a pivotal role in:

  • Managing rent and service charge income processes
  • Driving effective income collection and rent recovery strategies
  • Leading and developing a team of Finance Officers
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and audit standards
  • Delivering accurate reconciliations and financial reporting

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end processing of rent, service charges, and other income streams
  • Lead on rent arrears monitoring, income recovery, and bad debt management
  • Ensure accurate service charge accounting, including annual reviews and adjustments
  • Manage income reconciliation, banking operations, and financial controls
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximise income collection
  • Improve and streamline finance systems and processes
  • Produce high-quality financial insights and reports for senior stakeholders
  • Act as a key liaison with internal teams, auditors, and external partners
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team to deliver excellent performance



The Successful Applicant

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who bring:✅ Essential

  • Proven experience in service charge accounting
  • Strong background in rent recovery / income management / arrears
  • Experience working in housing, public sector, or a similar environment
  • Demonstrable leadership and team management experience
  • Strong financial reconciliation and reporting skills



✅ Desirable

  • Knowledge of housing finance regulations
  • Experience with financial systems and process improvement
  • Professional finance qualification (or equivalent experience)
