This role involves running and market-making OTC and exchange-traded LME base metals derivatives books, as well as proprietary trading across the broader base metals complex. You will work closely with clients, risk managers, and clearing teams to deliver competitive pricing, manage risk, and optimize trading strategies in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

  • Market-make and manage OTC and LME derivatives books for base metals.
  • Execute proprietary trading strategies across the base metals complex.
  • Provide liquidity and competitive pricing to institutional and corporate clients.
  • Monitor market trends, supply/demand dynamics, and macroeconomic factors.
  • Collaborate with risk management and operations teams to ensure compliance and robust controls.
  • Utilize advanced trading platforms and analytics to optimize performance.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Base Metals Trader should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience trading base metals on the LME.
  • Strong understanding of OTC and exchange-traded derivatives.
  • Excellent risk management skills and ability to manage large positions.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in trading systems and Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment.
