Our client is currently going through a number of acquisitions and is looking to centralise their procurement function, they are based in Derby and are looking to grow this team out. The business is a medium sized organisation which are going through an exciting time of growth and expansion.

Job Description

What the Successful Category Manager can expect to do:

  • Own all Categories in Indirect Procurement.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring high performance and compliance.
  • Analyse market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and innovation.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve favourable terms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align procurement goals with business objectives.
  • Monitor and report on category performance and compliance metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve procurement practices.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Category Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of category management principles and strategies.
  • Ability to analyse data and market trends effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Understanding of procurement regulations and compliance requirements.
