About Our Client

The Enforcement Conduct Board (ECB) is an independent oversight body established in November 2022 to improve standards across the enforcement industry. Their mission is to ensure individuals subject to enforcement action in England and Wales are treated fairly.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Administration Officer and providing administrative support to the Complaints Team.
  • Assess, validate, and determine whether complaints are suitable for investigation, including confirming details with all relevant parties
  • Resolve complaints at an early stage where possible through mediation and pragmatic problem-solving
  • Investigate straightforward cases and deliver fair, evidence-based decisions in line with regulations and standards
  • Communicate outcomes clearly and empathetically, producing structured written decisions and engaging effectively with stakeholders
  • Manage a personal caseload and support administrative processes, ensuring targets and service standards are met
  • Working flexibly and helping with other aspects of the business as required.

You will be comfortable working as part of a small team and be prepared to challenge and be challenged as part of your day-to-day work.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Assisting the Administration Officer and providing administrative support to the Complaints Team.
  • Assess, validate, and determine whether complaints are suitable for investigation, including confirming details with all relevant parties
  • Resolve complaints at an early stage where possible through mediation and pragmatic problem-solving
  • Investigate straightforward cases and deliver fair, evidence-based decisions in line with regulations and standards

Other Criteria:

The following experience would be helpful but is not an essential requirement for the role:

  • Experience working in and/or an understanding of the enforcement industry, debt collection or financial services
  • Experience investigating complaints for an organisation who is overseen by a regulator and/or ombudsman
