Job Description

This is a new role to bring corporate strategy capability to support the Board.The Corporate Strategy Lead supports the organisation's purpose by identifying emerging risks, opportunities and structural shifts across public policy, regulation and financial markets. The role works closely with the Director of Policy and Government Affairs and provides direct strategic support to the CEO and Executive Committee.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the design, evolution and execution of corporate strategy in a changing and uncertain external environment
  • Acting as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO on priority initiatives, stakeholder engagements and key communications
  • Connecting insights across policy, regulatory, financial and operational domains to inform Executive and Board decision-making
  • Supporting the annual business planning process to ensure strategic priorities are underpinned by robust financial insight
  • Translating complex strategic and technical material into clear narratives for diverse audiences, including government, regulators, industry partners and internal teams
  • Proactively identifying and escalating emerging risks and opportunities
  • Role-modelling inclusive, collaborative and security-aware behaviours across the organisation



This is a role for someone who enjoys ambiguity, values thoughtful analysis, and is comfortable influencing without dominance.

The Successful Applicant

You are likely to bring:

  • A track record in a recognised Strategy Consultancy -MBB, Big 4 or boutique strategy house - developing and implementing strategic frameworks and Board level analysis / reports
    • ideally with exposure to financial services, insurance or regulated environments
  • A strong analytical mindset, intellectual curiosity and attention to detail
  • Experience synthesising complex information and explaining it clearly to senior audiences
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders, Boards and Executive Committees in a constructive, respectful manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience applying strategic frameworks pragmatically rather than dogmatically
  • A good understanding of the UK political and policy landscape, or the ability to learn this quickly
  • A collaborative, collegiate working style with high self-awareness
  • Comfort prioritising work, managing deadlines and navigating uncertainty without unnecessary urgency
