Job Description

  • Manage and monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and minimise overdue balances.
  • Produce and distribute accurate invoices and account statements in accordance with agreed timelines.
  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organisational policies.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to resolve payment-related queries and disputes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address account discrepancies and escalate unresolved issues when necessary.
  • Prepare regular financial reports for management, including aged debt analysis and collection forecasts.
  • Support the Accounting & Finance department with ad hoc administrative tasks as required.
  • Ensure adherence to public sector financial regulations and internal controls.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Credit Controller should have:

  • Demonstrable experience in credit control or a related accounting and finance role.
  • A strong understanding of financial processes and regulations within the public sector.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel - v look ups and pivot tables.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
