Job Description

As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping cost management strategy and promoting a cost‑conscious culture across the organisation. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building strong relationships with Finance Directors and senior leaders, acting as a trusted partner on all expense‑related matters.
  • Influencing stakeholders to drive cost discipline, supported by ad‑hoc analysis and insightful commentary beyond standard reporting.
  • Leading monthly cost forums, presenting performance against budget, risks, opportunities and key actions for senior decision‑makers.
  • Driving accuracy of budgets and forecasts through robust challenge, detailed reviews and clear financial insight.
  • Supporting the agreement and validation of cost allocation methodologies to ensure transparency across channels, products and functions.
  • Monitoring project spend and benefits within the change portfolio, highlighting underperformance early and supporting corrective action.
  • Leading reforecasting and reprioritisation cycles to ensure responsiveness to business and market changes.
  • Managing approval forums for cost adjustments, investment proposals and savings initiatives.
  • Promoting a proactive, commercially minded approach to cost management across the finance and operational landscape.



Hybrid working applies, with a minimum of two days per week in the office or on‑site with stakeholders (moving to three days in the future).

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for this Finance Business Partner role will be:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) with strong experience in cost management, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Highly skilled in stakeholder engagement, with the gravitas to influence senior leaders and challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Analytical and commercially astute, able to translate complex data into clear insight that drives decision‑making.
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities, deadlines and demands in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Proactive, solutions‑focused and resilient, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experienced in cross‑functional partnering within financial services, insurance or similarly complex environments.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
