Job Description

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly financial and Head Office reports, including LCR and Bank of England returns.
  • Maintain accurate daily General Ledger controls through reconciliations and review of T24 entries.
  • Process invoices, prepare payment entries, and manage supplier payments through the Faster Payment system.
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns across branches and subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Update and reconcile daily bank positions, clearing outstanding items and confirming external clearing payments.
  • Support operational teams by responding to queries and providing day‑to‑day assistance on finance processes.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, risk, and internal control requirements, following all policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, resolving discrepancies, and enhancing reporting accuracy.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Finance Operations Officer should have:

  • A solid background in accounting or banking operations with strong attention to detail.
  • Good analytical skills and confidence working with Excel and financial systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting, VAT processes, and compliance standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, supporting smooth daily operations.
