Michael Page are partnering with a well-established and growing business to recruit a Financial Accountant for their finance team based in Llandudno. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant to join a high-performing finance function and play a key role in statutory reporting, compliance and technical accounting projects across a multi-entity business.

The role has arisen following an internal restructure and offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact while working closely with senior finance leadership on a range of interesting technical accounting matters.

Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant will include:

  • Preparation of statutory accounts
  • VAT returns and indirect tax compliance
  • Corporation tax preparation and liaison with external advisers
  • Supporting month-end reporting and management accounts production
  • Technical accounting research and implementation
  • Supporting the business through upcoming FRS 102 changes
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and group reporting requirements
  • Company secretarial activities
  • Supporting mergers, acquisitions and wider business projects
  • Process improvement and strengthening financial controls
  • Working closely with finance and non-finance stakeholders across the business



The Successful Applicant

Ideally we are looking to speak with qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) who have strong technical accounting knowledge and the confidence to operate independently.

  • Qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or strong studiers with experience
  • Previous experience within a Financial Accountant or similar role
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts
  • VAT and tax compliance experience
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • A proactive approach and willingness to drive improvements
  • Candidates with experience gained within industry, retail, manufacturing or other commercial environments are particularly encouraged to apply.
