The charity works on a remote basis, with ocassional travel required for meetings.Job Description· Provide strategic leadership of the finance function, shaping long‑term financial strategy, sustainability and priorities.· Lead a major finance transformation programme, including procuring and implementing a new finance system, modernising processes and driving automation, efficiency and improved insight.· Oversee all financial operations, governance and risk management - ensuring strong financial controls, high‑quality reporting, effective forecasting, and successful delivery of audits and statutory accounts.· Partner with senior leaders and trustees to provide financial analysis, modelling and strategic advice that informs decisions and investment choices.· Lead and manage 3 direct reports, building on their capabilities and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.· Drive organisation‑wide financial planning, budgeting, scenario planning and performance reporting, enhancing financial literacy across the charity.· Ensure alignment between Finance, Technology and other directorates, fostering strong cross‑functional relationships to support transformation and operational delivery.This is an excellent opportunity to enact change in a fast-paced environment and make a real difference to the finance function and wider charity.The Successful ApplicantMy client is looking for someone with the following experience and attributes:- Fully Qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ICAEW)- Proven experience of managing change and transformation projects including experience of implementing new finance systems, identifying pain points and redesigning processes to improve efficiencies.- Experience in the preparation of management and financial accounts, along with stakeholder liaison and adding commercial value.- Experience of managing and leading a team, both in the day-to-day and through change.- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with senior level stakeholders, along with ability to create a positive environment through a time of change.- Although not essential, previous experience of working within a charity and knowledge of Charity SORP would be beneficial.This is a maternity cover role and you must be willing to commit for the full duration of the contract (12-15 months).
