You will play a key role in strategic decision‑making and ensure the organisation operates with strong financial discipline, transparency, and long‑term sustainability.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & StrategyLead, manage, and develop the finance team, ensuring an effective and high‑performing function.Act as an active member of the senior leadership team, contributing to strategy, planning, and organisational impact.Provide clear, insightful financial analysis to support executive and board‑level decisions.Financial Control & PlanningImplement and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures across the organisation.Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting.Oversee cashflow management and financial sustainability planning.Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.Reporting & AccountingPrepare and present management accounts, KPI reporting, and financial performance analysis.Produce year‑end statutory accounts and all associated reconciliations.Lead the external audit process through to successful completion.Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, including charity accounting (SORP).Governance & ComplianceSupport Board and committee reporting with clear financial insight.Act as Company Secretary where required, supporting organisational governance and filings.Ensure GDPR, data protection, and financial confidentiality standards are upheld.Payroll & Transactional OversightOversee payroll processes, including multi‑jurisdictional payroll where applicable.Maintain oversight of debtor management and credit control activity.Culture & Best PracticePromote continuous improvement, strong financial ethics, and best practice across the organisation.Champion diversity, equality, and a positive working culture.The Successful ApplicantA successful Head of Finance should have:Must have a professional accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.Strong experience in financial management within the not-for-profit industry.Proven skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.Ability to lead and develop a team effectively.Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.Strong technical knowledge of charity accounting, governance, and SORP.Experience working closely with Boards, senior stakeholders, and external auditors.Demonstrable experience leading and developing finance teams.What's on OfferCompetitive salary ranging from £55,500 to £65,000.Opportunity to work in the not-for-profit industry and contribute to meaningful initiatives.Permanent position based remotelyBenefits package to be confirmed.This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled finance professional to join a small-sized organisation and make a lasting impact.
