Head of Finance

The RoleAs Head of Finance, you will have overall responsibility for financial governance, planning, reporting, and control, while acting as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team. You will play a key role in strategic decision‑making and ensure the organisation operates with strong financial discipline, transparency, and long‑term sustainability.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategy

• Lead, manage, and develop the finance team, ensuring an effective and high‑performing function.
• Act as an active member of the senior leadership team, contributing to strategy, planning, and organisational impact.
• Provide clear, insightful financial analysis to support executive and board‑level decisions.

Financial Control & Planning

• Implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures across the organisation.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting.
• Oversee cashflow management and financial sustainability planning.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.

Reporting & Accounting

• Prepare and present management accounts, KPI reporting, and financial performance analysis.
• Produce year‑end statutory accounts and all associated reconciliations.
• Lead the external audit process through to successful completion.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, including charity accounting (SORP).

Governance & Compliance

• Support Board and committee reporting with clear financial insight.
• Act as Company Secretary where required, supporting organisational governance and filings.
• Ensure GDPR, data protection, and financial confidentiality standards are upheld.

Payroll & Transactional Oversight

• Oversee payroll processes, including multi‑jurisdictional payroll where applicable.
• Maintain oversight of debtor management and credit control activity.

Culture & Best Practice

• Promote continuous improvement, strong financial ethics, and best practice across the organisation.
• Champion diversity, equality, and a positive working culture.
