Job Description

  • Provide clear, practical HR advice to managers on employee relations matters, assessing risk and ensuring appropriate outcomes
  • Manage a varied caseload, with a focus on long- and short-term absence, disciplinary, and grievance cases
  • Support senior management with Early Conciliation and Employment Tribunal cases, ensuring compliance with company policy, employment law, and best practice
  • Coach and guide managers through telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships while delivering consistent HR guidance
  • Accurately record, track, and monitor casework using case management systems and spreadsheets
  • Review and update company policies in line with legislative changes and business needs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Employee Relations team
  • Stay up to date with current employment legislation and HR best practice
  • Effectively manage a high-volume workload within a large, fast-paced organisation



The Successful Applicant

A successful HR Advisor should have:

  • Previous experience in a similar HR role, ideally within the retail industry.
  • A strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with great attention to detail.
  • The ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
  • CIPD qualification or working towards it would be advantageous.
