We are seeking a highly skilled Managing Director to lead and oversee operations within a leading Professional Services business, with headquarters based in Glasgow. This role will take full accountability for the performance, culture and delivery of the business.

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established, medium-sized organisation operating in the Professional Services sector. The role will be based in their Glasgow City Centre based HQ, but will have responsibility for other offices across the UK and overseas.

Job Description

Commercial & Sales Leadership:

  • Full accountability for revenue, volumes and advice performance across c.60 debt advisors
  • Lead a pressurised, daily-grind outcome environment with pace and discipline
  • Drive consistent delivery against volume, value and quality targets
  • Set the tone for energy, accountability and professionalism



Marketing & Customer Acquisition:

  • Ownership of a substantial annual marketing budget
  • Ensure spend remains within defined CPA thresholds
  • Maintain alignment between marketing intent, lead quality and outcomes
  • Use data and performance insight to continuously improve outcomes



Compliance & Standards:

  • Lead a fully FCA-regulated business with an unwavering focus on compliant delivery
  • Prior FCA experience helpful but not essential; the ability to operate responsibly, learn quickly and respect regulatory constraints is imperative
  • Maintain high standards under sustained commercial pressure and ensure those standards are embedded throughout the organisation



Operational & People Leadership:

  • Overall leadership of c.110+ staff across advice, onboarding, compliance and operations
  • Ensure smooth operational flow from advice through onboarding
  • Develop strong management capability



Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Full P&L responsibility
  • Close collaboration with a dedicated Finance Director (dotted line), with deep knowledge of
  • the front-end business
  • Ownership of budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting



Group Collaboration:

  • Support distribution of adjacent group products through the core acquisition engine
  • Ensure cross-group activity is well-governed and execution-focused



Board Engagement:

  • Clear, factual, commercially grounded communication of performance, risks and priorities

The Successful Applicant

A successful Managing Director should have:

  • Senior leadership experience running large, target-driven sales organisations
  • Proven ability to operate effectively under sustained pressure
  • Track record of consistent delivery at scale
  • Experience managing significant marketing spend with clear ROI accountability



Sector Background:

  • FCA or regulated financial services experience helpful but not essential
  • Relevant backgrounds may include high-volume advisory/call-centre-led businesses or other sales-intensive, performance-led environments



Personal Characteristics:

  • Energetic, driven and delivery-focused
  • Good under pressure; calm, controlled and decisive
  • Commercially sharp and operationally disciplined
  • Comfortable holding high standards while pushing performance
  • Credible with both front-line teams and board-level stakeholders
