Job Description

The responsibilities of the Middle Office Assistant include:

  • Opening and maintaining customer accounts, processing deposits, withdrawals, and transfers accurately.
  • Supporting internet banking set-up and resolving account-related queries in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring full compliance with KYC and AML requirements, including monitoring and escalating suspicious activity.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records while safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring confidentiality.
  • Collaborating with the Sales team to support account-related targets and service delivery.
  • Liaising with Treasury to process documentation for non-routine transactions.
  • Coordinating with Admin/HR regarding vendor set-up and standing order maintenance.
  • Contributing to system improvements, automation initiatives, and data integrity checks.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Middle Office Assistant candidate will have 1-3 years' experience in banking, customer service, or account management. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of banking operations and financial regulations, including familiarity with SWIFT payment instruction series.

They will be detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) is highly desirable.
