The organisation has a vast and complex property portfolio.Job DescriptionYou will be responsible for providing legal advice to the business on a wide range of interesting and challenging property projects, vital to the operation of our airport and in support of future growth.The role holder will advise on legal risk and the processes surrounding property issues, be able to independently conduct negotiations to advance transactions and resolve issues and review and advise on a variety of property matters including drafting of leases, licences, development documentation, reports and briefings and bespoke agreements. There must therefore be a willingness to take on a flexible diverse workload to meet the varying needs of the business and to upskill in other areas of the law as may be required and whilst predominantly non-contentious, the role will include the provision of measured and pragmatic strategic advice on complex areas and potential disputes.You will:Manage a diverse and flexible caseload, including landlord and tenant matters, property development, utilities, acquisition and disposal, land access issues, complex title work, portfolio management and drafting and negotiating bespoke documentation.Provide pro-active legal advice on a variety property matters generally including transactional, advisory and dispute work.Undertake research and prepare legal and strategic advice on property matters generallyProduce, update and maintain standard form documentation and 'toolkits' for the businessAdvising on governance structures and ensuring that appropriate reporting to Executive team and senior lawyers is maintainedThe Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will be a lawyer, qualified in the UK (or another common law jurisdiction). They will have demonstrable experience in property law, ideally covering a variety of work including:acting for both landlords and tenants,development work,title work,land acquisitions and disposals,land assembly,options,pre-emptions anddevelopment agreements.Desirable:Some working knowledge in planning and compulsory purchase work.Experience in infrastructure related work will be helpful but is not essential.Previous in-house or client secondment experience will be helpful but is not essentialThis is a Hybrid role.
