Job Description

The role involves partnering with divisional managers to enhance profitability and processes, ensuring internal controls are maintained. Responsibilities include providing management accounts, supporting the Finance Business Partner team, and ensuring financial data is communicated effectively.This role is ideal for someone with strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to various stakeholders. It offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for travel and hybrid working.Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Key Relationship Management: Maintain a strong relationship with Senior Management.
  • Team Leadership: Guide and develop the Finance Business Partner(s) in your region/business area and support the wider FBP team.
  • Financial Reporting: Improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business performance.
  • Partnership Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior managers and their teams.
  • Data Interpretation: Communicate financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Operational Support: Act as a business partner to operational management, including regular site visits.
  • Commercial Support: Assist with business tenders and prepare monthly management accounts.
  • Variance Analysis: Provide detailed insights into financial variances.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Coordinate the budget and forecasting process.
  • Financial Advice: Offer professional judgement on financial matters and appraise capital projects.
  • System Support: Support the design and delivery of new reports and models.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare year-end audit information.
  • Central Reporting: Support central financial reporting requirements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Leadership: Ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Accounting Expertise: Advanced understanding of accounting practices.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build strong relationships with non-financial managers.
  • Workload Management: Ability to manage and prioritize workload in a dynamic environment.
  • System Development: Exposure to financial and operational system setup and development.
  • Team Player: Self-motivated and able to work well in a team.
  • Qualified CIMA/ACCA with 5+ years post-qualification experience or Qualified by experience.
  • Experience: Production of full, annotated monthly management accounts, use of business accounting systems, and experience in producing financial models.
  • Full clean driving license required for site travel.
  • Experience with Cognos TM1, data warehousing, and logistics/supply chain/property industry experience would be advantageous.
