Job Description

The Main Responsibilities for the successful Strategic Procurement Manager:

  • · Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies.
  • · Drive cost analysis and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
  • · Create and apply effective negotiation strategies.
  • · Conduct scenario-based analysis, benchmarking, and market research.
  • · Anticipate supplier power shifts and optimize sourcing processes.
  • · Support budget development and management.
  • Deliver GNFR procurement savings targets.
  • · Manage supplier contracts, KPIs, and SLAs.
  • · Lead and develop direct reports (as required).
  • · Build strong cross-functional stakeholder relationships to ensure policy compliance.
  • · Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO, ESOS, CSR, GDP, etc.).
  • · Collaborate across Phoenix Group to maximize profitability and share market intelligence.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Strategic Procurement Manager should have:

  • Strong experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Proven skills in supplier negotiation and contract management.
  • Ability to analyse data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement policies and regulations.
  • A proactive approach to solving challenges and driving results.
  • CIPS Qualified is preferred but not essential

  • Salary between £55,000 and £60,000 dependent on the level of experience.
