I manage the Environmental Services Team. I love the variety – it’s very rare that two days are the same. Blaby has given me loads of opportunities to grow and develop and have supported me to become a manager. I feel like I am helping people by working here.

I am lead officer for work linked to Climate Change and the Green Agenda. Blaby District Council is taking the climate emergency seriously and there is real enthusiasm and support to make the necessary changes that will benefit both the environment and the community. I’m proud to be part of that.

I manage the partnership service to deliver the disabled facilities grant for applicants. I come to work to help people and make a difference. My role involves partnership working, negotiating, influencing and reviewing to ensure the teams have what they need to deliver. Everyone who works here has the customer at the centre of what we do.

My role involves the processing of planning applications. Each day is varied, and this makes the job even more interesting and enjoyable. I am constantly learning on the job and the support has always been great. I have been given many training opportunities which will support my professional development and progression.
