Our client's challenge The client, a UK Government Agency, identified several problems with one of their critical processes and the significant resource consumption required for its day-to-day management. They were cognisant that their current solution of providing extra resources to manually process, and fix, business critical issues was costly and inefficient. How Michael Page Consulting helpedMichael Page Consulting deployed a skilled team to first map the clients existing operating model, utilising a Process, Organisation, Tools & Information (POTI) approach to identify problems at the required level of detail. We found deficiencies in existing process, including a lack of a clear RACI to explain how the organisation interacted across the process flow, inconsistencies in the information management approach and incoherent use of technology & tools. A new Target Operating model and RACI matrix were designed from afresh, and a cataloguing of the current tools used and required data cleansing of the information held within these tools was undertaken to allow clear requirements to be developed, that could support the procurement of a fit for purpose software applications. Finally, a 5-part best practice UK Government business case was drafted to achieve the required investment approval, enabling the client to solve the wider identified challenges and fully develop the new operating model. The resultsOur tailored client consulting produced the below outcomes:High Value Sourcing Decisions - Our consulting teams helped the client realise ROI and business value by identifying key information to guide fit-for-purpose software selection, aligned to strategic goals.Robust Compliant Business Cases - We built a robust evidence base to support a UK government-compliant business case, enabling a central property agency to secure investment for long-term transformation.Programme Excellence - By defining DDAT best practices tailored to the client’s context, we fostered a sustainable culture of excellence and strengthened internal capability across teams.Get to know our Consulting services Discover how Michael Page Consulting can provide companies with complete digital transformation and long-term tech competitiveness.
