This Accounts Receivable (AR) role in the industrial/manufacturing industry is a permanent position based in West Lothian. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable activities and ensuring smooth financial operations.

Job Description

Banking & Cash Management

  • Process and post daily bank transactions accurately
  • Prepare and circulate daily banking reports
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Manage weekly BACS runs and process customer payments



Accounts Receivable & Credit Control

  • Maintain and manage debtor accounts
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices
  • Prepare and review aged debtors' reports
  • Liaise with customers to resolve payment queries and disputes



Invoicing & Revenue Support

  • Raise invoices using Sage and Fred systems (including proforma invoices) (Shared responsibility)
  • Ensure all invoicing is accurate and issued in a timely manner
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue payments (Shared responsibility)



Operational & Administrative Support

  • Handle dispatch documentation and ensure proper record-keeping as a cover
  • Monitor and respond to DMR inbox queries in a timely manner as a cover
  • Maintain accurate filing and documentation for audit purposes



Interyard Stock (Basic Oversight) (as a cover)

  • Assist in recording and reconciling interyard stock movements
  • Cross-check stock transfers against supporting documentation
  • Flag discrepancies between physical stock movements and system records
  • Support periodic stock checks and reporting

The Successful Applicant

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance assistant role (AR focus preferred)
  • Familiarity with accounting systems such as Sage (experience with Fred is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of bank reconciliations and credit control processes
  • Good Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills for internal and external coordination



Desirable

  • Experience in logistics, recycling, or materials handling environments
  • Exposure to stock tracking or inter-site transfers
  • Understanding of weighbridge or dispatch documentation processes
