This creates an excellent environment for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys getting to know their clients and wants to develop beyond pure accounts preparation into broader client management responsibilitiesJob DescriptionThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Senior who is ready to take the next step within accountancy practice.You will join a friendly and established team, working with a varied portfolio including small limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. The position offers plenty of hands-on accounts and tax work while providing the opportunity to develop your client management capabilities.Importantly, this is not intended to be a static Accounts Senior position. The firm is looking for somebody with the ambition and capability to progress towards Client Manager over the next few years.Working closely with the firm's Directors, you will initially provide support across an established client portfolio while gaining greater exposure to client relationships, problem solving and portfolio management. As your experience develops, the intention is for you to take increasing ownership and ultimately manage a portfolio of your own.Responsibilities will include:Preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnershipsPreparing Corporation Tax and Income Tax returnsAssisting with bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial recordsSupporting clients with day-to-day accounting and taxation queriesBuilding strong working relationships with a varied portfolio of clientsWorking closely with the Directors and wider teamManaging your workload effectively around client and filing deadlinesDelivering a professional and personal service to clientsGradually developing your portfolio and client management responsibilitiesThe Successful ApplicantThis opportunity would suit an experienced accountancy practice professional with a strong grounding in accounts preparation and tax compliance.You may already be working as an Accounts Senior or in a similar general practice position and be looking for a firm where there is genuine scope to progress.You will ideally have:Previous experience within an accountancy practiceStrong accounts preparation experienceExperience working with limited companies, partnerships and sole tradersGood working knowledge of bookkeeping and tax complianceThe confidence to communicate directly with clientsStrong organisational skills and attention to detailA proactive and professional approach to your workThe ambition to develop towards Client Manager levelACA, ACCA or equivalent qualifications would be welcomed, although the firm is flexible.
