Job Description

  • Support the development and execution of category strategies to meet business objectives.
  • To help drive category strategy and improvements within HR and professional services.
  • Analyse market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with procurement goals.
  • Contribute to supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings and added value.
  • Assist in managing supplier relationships and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor and report on category performance and key metrics.
  • Support the implementation of procurement policies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures within the procurement process.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Category Manager should have:

  • Experience in procurement or supply chain management within the retail industry is preferred but not necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • To previously have experience within HR and professional services is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using relevant procurement software and tools.
  • Knowledge of supplier management and negotiation techniques.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in procurement or supply chain.
