Known for its collaborative and pragmatic approach, the business supports organisations across a range of sectors, drawing on deep technical knowledge and a consistent focus on high standards.Job DescriptionKey Duties:Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines and service standards are metOversee the preparation and review of financial statements and management accountsSupervise delivery of tax compliance work, including VAT and corporate reportingAct as the main point of contact for clients, responding to queries and providing guidanceReview work completed by junior staff, offering feedback and technical supportSupport the planning and execution of more complex assignmentsMonitor workflow, budgets, and billing to ensure commercial objectives are achievedIdentify areas where additional services could benefit clientsContribute to team development through mentoring and day-to-day oversightWork closely with senior leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality deliveryThe Successful ApplicantBusiness Services Assistant Manager Credentials:ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with strong technical groundingPrevious experience within a UK accountancy practice environmentSolid background in accounts preparation and tax compliance workExperience handling more complex client structures, including groupsConfident dealing directly with clients and managing relationshipsStrong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectivelyHigh attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate workCommercially aware, with the ability to understand client needsProactive approach, with confidence to suggest improvementsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalTeam-oriented, with the ability to support and collaborate with colleaguesDesirable:Experience mentoring or supervising junior team membersConfidence reviewing work and providing technical feedbackFamiliarity with cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooksInterest in contributing to process improvements and operational efficiencyWhat's on OfferFinancial Details and Benefits:Competitive salary between £38,000 and £42,000 per annum.Standard working week of 37.5 hours (Mon-Fri) with flexibilityOffice-based in Newport with occasional client exposure30 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)Life assurance at 2x base salaryCompany pension schemePaid ICAEW / ACCA subscriptionsAccess to an on-site gymFree parking available onsiteOpportunities for professional growth and career advancement.Supportive and collaborative work environment in Newport.Potential for additional benefits to be discussed during the recruitment process.Your application is warmly welcomed by our experienced and professional team of recruitment experts.
