Job Description

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet operational requirements.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal terms and conditions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the relevant departments to avoid shortages.
  • Maintain and update supplier records, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and present purchasing reports to senior management.
  • Ensure adherence to budgets and procurement policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Purchasing Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Open to category background, requires experience managing far east suppliers, understanding container loads and experience managing buyers
  • A strong understanding of purchasing principles and practices within the retail industry.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • A relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
