This role will be responsible for category strategy, supplier relationships, commercial performance, margin delivery and team leadership across a global wholesale environment. The role combines P&L ownership, supplier negotiation, supply chain oversight and people management to drive sales growth, profitability and operational excellence.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing category strategies that enhance commercial performance, customer proposition and competitive positioning.
  • Owning revenue, margin and budget targets, driving growth through effective commercial planning and execution.
  • Leading and mentoring category teams, creating a high-performance culture focused on development and accountability.
  • Building strategic supplier partnerships to strengthen commercial outcomes, improve service levels and unlock value opportunities.
  • Working cross-functionally to optimise supply chain performance, maintain compliance and improve profitability.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate would have:

  • Experience leading category functions within complex, fast-paced environments, influencing senior stakeholders and balancing multiple business priorities.
  • Strong background in buying, trading or commercial management, with responsibility for driving category performance and business growth.
  • Experienced negotiator with a track record of delivering improved commercial terms, margin enhancement and value creation.
  • Data-driven decision maker, using commercial insights and performance analysis to shape strategy and support profitable outcomes.
  • Effective people leader with experience developing high-performing teams, alongside strong knowledge of category management, profitability, supply chain operations and long-term business planning.

What's on Offer

On offer to the candidate:

  • Competitive salary of £80,000 to £90,000 (experience dependent) plus package.
  • Permanent position based in North West London - 5 days pw in office.
