Job Description

The successful Commercial Director will;

  • Lead the commercial function, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.
  • Define and execute a bold commercial strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with councils, energy providers, and installers.
  • Drive innovation in pricing and funding models to maximize customer uptake.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders in Operations and Finance to ensure seamless delivery, accurate forecasting, and commercial alignment.
  • Oversee commercial operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance across all processes.
  • Act as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to overall business strategy and growth.



The Successful Applicant

We are seeking a commercially astute leader who combines strategic vision with hands-on execution. You will have:

    • Proven success in senior commercial leadership within energy, utilities, or home efficiency sectors.
    • Experience in developing systems and processes that enable scale and operational excellence.
    • Ability to adapt to an SME environment, balancing structure with agility to drive growth.
    • Ideally a track record of preparing businesses for investment or sale horizons, with strong understanding of value creation.
    • Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management skills, both externally and internally.
    • A visionary mindset and leadership style that thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
    • Ambition to grow into a future Managing Director role, shaping the long-term success of the business.
    • Ideally based in the North East of the UK.
