About Our Client

The client are a leading private bank and wealth manager within the Islamic banking space. With headquarters in London, they are looking to hire an experienced Communications professional who can develop the communications strategy for the bank and deliver on it.

The Communications Manager will be responsible for developing, managing and delivering clear, engaging and consistent communications that reflect the company values and support strategic goals. This is a new role who is suited to someone who is proactive, confident working independently and comfortable shaping a communications function from the ground up.

The role covers both internal and external communications, ensuring messaging is cohesive, timely, and aligned with our brand identity and regulatory expectations.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for the Communications Manager:

Internal Communications

  • Develop and implement an internal communications plan to support employee engagement and alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Draft, edit, and distribute internal announcements, newsletters, staff updates, and leadership messages.
  • Support change‑management initiatives through clear and structured communication materials.
  • Manage content on internal channels (intranet, email bulletins, staff briefings).



External Communications

  • Create and manage external content including press releases, website copy, campaign messaging, and thought‑leadership pieces.
  • Maintain and enhance the bank's digital presence across owned channels, ensuring consistent tone and positioning.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, media contacts, and partners as needed.
  • Ensure all communication materials accurately reflect Islamic banking principles and the bank's brand guidelines.
  • Support reputation management and assist with responses to media enquiries.



Brand & Content Development

  • Uphold and evolve the bank's brand voice across all communication touchpoints.
  • Develop high‑quality written materials including brochures, FAQs, product summaries, speeches, and event content.
  • Monitor and measure engagement with communications, providing recommendations for improvement.



Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all communications meet regulatory, legal, and internal compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with Compliance to ensure clarity and accuracy when communicating regulated product information.



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate:

  • Proven experience in a communications, PR, or content‑focused role (financial services experience preferred).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a stand‑alone role.
  • Experience developing communication plans and managing both internal and external messaging.
  • Understanding of Islamic banking principles (or willingness to learn).
  • Strong stakeholder‑management skills and confidence working with senior leaders.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and content‑management platforms
