Job Description

Know‑How and Information Management

  • Organising, maintaining and developing electronic know‑how resources and information banks for the Construction Disputes team
  • Reviewing and assessing materials submitted by lawyers for inclusion as know‑how
  • Creating and maintaining clear categories and sub‑categories of know‑how content
  • Profiling and enhancing know‑how materials to improve searchability, accessibility and practical use
  • Proactively monitoring and updating know‑how to ensure ongoing quality and relevance
  • Tracking legal developments, including legislation and case law, and circulating updates where appropriate
  • Acting as a sounding board for fee‑earners on technical and practical legal issues
  • Assisting with the preparation of information and research materials for the wider team
  • Drafting technical legal updates and assisting with knowledge‑sharing initiatives across the firm



Drafting and Precedents

  • Reviewing, maintaining and updating existing precedents and crib sheets
  • Drafting new precedents and practical guidance materials, coordinating review as required
  • Preparing a range of know‑how materials, including flowcharts, house views, client‑facing papers and internal guidance



Training and Development

  • Supporting the preparation and delivery of internal and external training programmes
  • Participating in internal training sessions and junior development initiatives
  • Providing support for tenders and client pitches
  • Delivering external talks, recording webinars and producing video content where required



Business Development and Profile

  • Assisting with client alerts, briefings and legal updates
  • Supporting responses to public consultations
  • Drafting and editing content for the firm's website
  • Providing know‑how support to clients where appropriate
  • Assisting lawyers with articles, seminars and presentations, including research and content development
  • Engaging with the press and attending client events as required



Additional Responsibilities

  • Providing wider knowledge support, including cross‑jurisdictional research and content development
  • Delivering client‑chargeable support to fee‑earners, where required
  • Undertaking legal research on behalf of the construction disputes team and other practice groups
  • Supporting firm‑wide or ad hoc working groups reviewing legal and regulatory developments

The Successful Applicant

The firm operates a structured Career Development Framework and, for this role, is seeking candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a solicitor with a minimum of five years' PQE in contentious construction matters, or prior experience as a Professional Support / Knowledge Lawyer in construction disputes at a reputable firm
  • Strong drafting and technical legal skills
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in the wider construction and disputes market
  • Confidence in supporting and advising fee‑earners at all levels
  • An interest in innovation, legal technology and AI
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to use initiative
  • Clear, effective written and verbal communication
  • A flexible, enthusiastic and proactive approach to a varied role
  • A professional, approachable and conscientious manner
