Job Description

The key responsibilities of a Credit Controller will be:

  • Ensure the timely collection of outstanding invoices through effective communication, maintaining a robust and scalable sales ledger function suitable for a growing business.
  • Review and distribute invoice copies and customer statements as required.
  • Liaise with internal teams and relationship managers to resolve customer queries and complaints efficiently.
  • Proactively pursue overdue payments via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Support the administration and ongoing maintenance of the direct debit system.
  • Accurately allocate and reconcile receipts within the accounting system, escalating discrepancies promptly.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of overdue accounts and aged debt.
  • Prepare aged debt reports, identifying and escalating potential bad debts.
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal departments and external client

The Successful Applicant

A successful Credit Crontroller will have:

  • Previous experience in a Credit Controller role.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Confident communicator with handling calls and working to targets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting systems
