Job Description

  • Oversee credit control processes to ensure timely payments from customers.
  • Maintain and update customer accounts within the accounting system.
  • Proactively follow up on overdue invoices and resolve payment issues.
  • Conduct credit checks and assess new customer accounts.
  • Prepare regular reports on outstanding debts and credit status.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address account discrepancies.
  • Respond to customer queries regarding invoices and statements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Credit Controller should have:

  • This role would suit someone wanting to get their foot in the door or who has a a couple of years experience already within credit control
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with customers and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and resolving payment issues.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and procedures in the retail industry.
