As a Credit Controller in Southampton, you will manage credit control activity for an Industrial / Manufacturing business, helping to keep customer accounts accurate and payments moving. You will work within the Accounting & Finance department to maintain clear records and support the day-to-day running of the finance function.

Job Description

  • Manage customer accounts and maintain accurate credit control records.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on payments in line with agreed processes.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve payment queries and account discrepancies.
  • Review account information to help maintain accurate customer data.
  • Work closely with the Accounting & Finance team to provide clear updates on payment status.
  • Keep records of customer contact and payment arrangements up to date.
  • Prepare information on outstanding balances to support regular finance reporting.
  • Help maintain an organised approach to credit control across the Southampton operation.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Credit Controller' should have:

  • Experience of managing customer accounts and outstanding balances.
  • Ability to follow up payments and handle customer payment queries clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail when maintaining account records.
  • Confidence working with financial information and account data.
  • Ability to organise tasks and keep accurate records of customer contact.
  • Experience of working as part of an Accounting & Finance function.
