This role supports end to end credit, counterparty and country risk management. With responsibility for assessing and monitoring exposures across financial institutions, sovereigns and corporates in emerging and frontier markets. The position also contributes to the modernisation of risk processes through improved data, systems and automation to strengthen control, consistency and efficiency.

A UK‑regulated wholesale bank supporting institutions operating in emerging and frontier markets through FX, payments and liquidity solutions. The firm provides access to complex and hard to reach markets via a specialist global payments and foreign exchange network.

Job Description

  • Produce structured credit analyses and reviews to support approval of new and existing exposures across FIs, NBFIs, central banks, IDOs, NGOs/charities and corporates.
  • Monitor counterparty risk on an ongoing basis, including exposure movements, limit utilisation and early warning indicators.
  • Support day to day credit portfolio oversight, including limit maintenance, controls and management reporting to mitigate credit losses.
  • Analyse and periodically review emerging and frontier market countries relevant to the organisation's operating footprint.
  • Develop and maintain country risk assessments.
  • Support the streamlining and automation of credit and country risk processes, including data capture, templates, monitoring and MI.
  • Contribute to enhancements of risk tools, policies and procedures.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Credit Risk Analyst should have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Credit risk experience gained within financial services, ideally with EM / frontier market exposure.
  • Strong credit assessment skills, financial modelling expertise is a plus.
  • Understanding of banking products from a credit perspective, including payments, FX/treasury (including derivatives) and trade finance.
  • Data literate and systems aware, with hands‑on experience using Excel, databases, dashboards or risk systems.
  • Proven interest in process improvement, automation and technology enabled risk management.
