They champion a safety-first culture and invest in reliable plant performance, continuous improvement, and robust engineering standards.Job DescriptionKey responsibilities:Diagnose and repair electrical and electromechanical faults on complex plant and equipmentInstall, maintain, test and overhaul electrical systems including LV power distribution, motors, transformers, switchgear and circuit protection devicesDeliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown supportWork strictly within site Permit to Work (PTW) and Safety Management System (SMS) frameworksInterpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications and technical manualsEnsure accurate completion and updates of 'as-built' drawings where requiredIdentify improvement opportunities and raise modification requests to enhance plant safety and efficiencySelect and use appropriate tools and equipment in line with training and proceduresMaintain accountability for tools, equipment and work standardsSupport digital maintenance systems (e.g. CMMS) for reporting and communicationWork on safety-critical systems including fire & gas detection and emergency shutdown systemsEnsure correct preparation and reinstatement of work areas at all timesThe Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate:Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship (ECITB or equivalent) or holds an HNC/D with relevant experienceCompEx certification (Ex01-04) with strong understanding of hazardous area workingLV Authorised with knowledge of current IET Regulations (BS7671 / Electricity at Work Regulations)Experience with LV/HV switching and isolation procedures, with HV Authorisation desirableTrained in relay protection systems and electrical protection methodsStrong hands-on experience fault finding across industrial electrical systemsExperience working within PTW and SMS environmentsKnowledge of fire & gas detection systems and emergency shutdown (ESD) systemsConfident interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematicsFood or process manufacturing experience advantageousStrong attention to detail with a proactive, safety-led mindsetWhat's on OfferWhat's on offer:Salary from £35,000 to £45,000Opportunity to work on complex, high-integrity electrical plant in a regulated environmentExposure to hazardous area systems and advanced electrical infrastructureStructured engineering environment with clear processes and safety systemsLong-term career stability within an established and well-invested siteContactBen TurnerQuote job refJN-052026-7020238Phone number+44 113 388 9075Job summaryJob functionEngineering & ManufacturingSubsectorMaintenance, ReliabilitySectorIndustrial / ManufacturingLocationHartlepoolContract typePermanentConsultant nameBen TurnerConsultant phone+44 113 388 9075Job referenceJN-052026-7020238
