Job Description

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Support the audit process, including liaising with external auditors as required.
  • Maintain and enhance financial controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to senior stakeholders to guide strategic decisions.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of accounts and manage the month-end and year-end processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Accounting & Finance department to ensure effective teamwork and knowledge sharing.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Accountant should have:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CA).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proven experience in financial management within the not-for-profit sector or a similar industry.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
