To operate as a key member of the FX trading team, providing specialist expertise across FX spot and derivative products, and independently managing the bank's full Trading Book positions when required.

Job Description

  • Quote and execute FX transactions within approved mandates.
  • Refine, implement and uphold robust FX trading desk procedures.
  • Deliver business results by executing the desk strategy and wider business plan.
  • Ensure full adherence to First Line responsibilities, including compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Continuously identify, assess, mitigate/manage and monitor all risks, including credit, market, liquidity, operational, valuation, model and compliance risks (such as conduct risk and conflicts of interest).
  • Report and escalate any material risk events or losses promptly to line management, identify root causes, and support the implementation of corrective actions.

The Successful Applicant

A successful FX Trader should have:

  • A degree in a related field.
  • Proven experience trading FX products.
  • Strong technical knowledge of FX and other Treasury instruments, with strong emphasis on derivatives.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Capability to support delivery of strategic business plans.
  • Ability to engage clients with insightful and well‑reasoned market discussions.
  • Broad market experience and strong commercial understanding.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Treasury colleagues to optimise efficiency and profitability.
  • Comfortable working within a small, close‑knit team.
  • Consistent commitment to strong risk management and compliance standards.
