Job Description

In this Group Financial Accountant position, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial information that underpins key decision‑making across the organisation.

You'll take full ownership of the group consolidation process, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual group accounts while ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.

This includes managing eliminations, inter-company transactions, and supporting subsidiaries to deliver high‑quality reporting.

You'll lead on statutory accounts preparation, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth year‑end process.

A key part of your mandate will be enhancing internal controls and accounting processes-identifying gaps, streamlining workflows, and helping the business move towards greater automation and efficiency. Beyond this, the role offers wide‑ranging exposure across the organisation.

You'll partner with the wider finance team and senior stakeholders, providing analysis, commentary, and clarity around group performance. You'll support the delivery of cashflow reporting, balance sheet reviews and technical accounting papers, especially in areas such as IFRS, consolidations, and complex transactions.

You'll also play a meaningful part in project work. This may include systems improvements, supporting acquisitions and integration's, reviewing group structure, embedding new reporting tools, or contributing to transformation initiatives that shape the finance function of the future.

This is a role where you won't just maintain the status quo, you'll have real influence in improving how the group operates.

The Successful Applicant

We're looking for someone who's ready to step into a role where their experience genuinely shapes the way the business operates.

You'll likely be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a solid grounding in technical accounting - whether that's come from audit, a group finance environment, or a role that has exposed you to consolidations and statutory reporting.

You'll be the kind of person who feels confident navigating complex financial data and turning it into something meaningful for the wider business. If you enjoy being the go‑to expert - the person colleagues come to for clarity, guidance, and insight - you'll feel very at home here.

Your background might include:

  • Preparing or auditing statutory accounts
  • Exposure to consolidations or multi‑entity reporting
  • Working with stakeholders across different teams
  • Strengthening controls or improving processes
  • Supporting year‑end audits or technical accounting queries

But beyond the technical skill set, what will truly make you successful in this position is your mindset. You'll be curious, proactive and always looking for a better way of doing things. If you enjoy taking ownership, influencing change, and pushing forward improvements, this role gives you plenty of room to leave your mark.

This is a role where your impact will be visible. The business is on a growth journey, and they value fresh ideas - whether that's streamlining the month‑end timetable, enhancing group reporting, or helping shape the next phase of finance transformation. You won't just be maintaining processes; you'll be evolving them.
