This is an opportunity to work with a respected legal department within a large organisation.Job DescriptionThe position is for a Senior Associate Lawyer within a public law team, primarily focused on criminal litigation. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct criminal litigation - handling prosecutions related to fare evasion and taxi/private hire trade.Draft legal documents and oversee case preparation - drafting and reviewing witness statements, managing disclosure, and corresponding with litigants or their representatives.Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel by acting as the decision-maker on legal matters, including liaising with counsel (barristers).Ensure compliance with public and regulatory law standards - providing regulatory and compliance advice.The Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will be a lawyer, qualified in England & Wales who is likely to have between 3 - 5 years PQE (although applications at all levels of experience will be considered). They will have Criminal Litigation Experience (this is mandatory) as well as drafting and decision-making skills - ability to prepare and approve legal documents.Additional desirable skills:Public and regulatory law experience.Familiarity with compliance and enforcement contexts (e.g., health & safety, environmental law).What's on OfferFor further information about the day rate on offer for this role, please apply to this advert.
