The role covers design, implementation, optimisation and support of secure, contained environments, ensuring high availability, performance and compliance across critical IT systems.

Job Description

  • Design, build and implement HPE server and EMC storage cluster solutions
  • Configure, monitor and optimise EMC storage environments
  • Manage performance, capacity and scalability of cluster architectures
  • Configure and maintain VMware ESXi hosts and vSphere environments
  • Implement vSphere HA, SRM and virtual networking/firewalling
  • Manage VMware Horizon VDI user setup, profiles and gold image upgrades
  • Troubleshoot VDI, server, storage and network-related issues
  • Configure routing, firewall rules and security policies for VMs
  • Provide technical support for infrastructure and business applications
  • Apply automation and scripting (Ansible, scripts) where appropriate
  • Manage firmware, software upgrades and system maintenance
  • Monitor and report on IT systems in line with management requirements
  • Participate in out-of-hours work and 24x7 on-call support when required

The Successful Applicant

A successful Infrastructure Project Engineer should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience with HPE servers, EMC storage and VMware technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of server architecture, VMware vSphere and VDI
  • Hands-on experience with VMware Horizon environments
  • Strong Windows Server and Active Directory domain experience
  • Solid understanding of networking, security and backup solutions
  • Experience working in restricted or isolated network environments
  • Automation or scripting experience (Ansible preferred)
  • Visual Basic and Excel Macro experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • VMware, CCNA or MCSE certifications preferred
  • Mandarin language skills advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
