Job Description

As Interim Head of Data, you will play a vital role in keeping key workstreams moving, supporting the team, and ensuring data capabilities continue to operate smoothly. This is a role for someone who is confident stepping into an existing environment, quickly building rapport, and providing steady leadership when it's most needed.

  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership to the data team, offering guidance, prioritisation and support.
  • Keep critical projects, reporting cycles, and operational data activities on track.
  • Maintain oversight of data governance, compliance, and security practices.
  • Support colleagues across the organisation by ensuring timely, reliable insights and reporting continue to be delivered.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for any data-related queries, decisions, or risks.
  • Help maintain momentum across ongoing improvements to data processes, tooling and ways of working.



The Successful Applicant

  • Experience leading data teams or data functions in a charitable/ not for profit organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of data management, analysis, and governance best practice.
  • Familiarity with common data technologies (e.g., SQL, modern BI tools, cloud platforms).
  • A calm, collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate and support multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • The ability to operate effectively in an interim capacity-balancing continuity with pragmatic problem‑solving.



What's on Offer

  • Competitive monthly salary ranging from £550-600 per day Inside IR35.
  • 3 month contract initially
  • Remote - occasional team days requiring office presence
