A leading and expanding International Arbitration practice is seeking a Senior Associate to join its London office. The team acts as counsel and arbitrators across all major arbitral institutions and has extensive experience in investor-state and commercial arbitration. The practice handles disputes across numerous jurisdictions, including Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, the CIS, the Middle East and the Caribbean, often working closely with local counsel.

About Our Client

The team advises on matters spanning energy, mining, construction, finance, telecommunications, shipping, real estate and life sciences. It also undertakes arbitration-related litigation before the English High Court and other state courts, including injunctions, investigatory steps, discovery applications, and award enforcement.

Job Description

  • Manage client matters (or major components of larger matters) with minimal supervision.
  • Assist partners with case strategy, workload management and client development.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients while consistently delivering high-quality work.
  • Supervise, mentor and support junior team members, including through training and informal guidance.
  • Take part in internal and external business development initiatives.
  • Maintain strong time-recording performance and contribute to team financial objectives.
  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and external professionals

The Successful Applicant

  • England & Wales qualified, with experience advising on English law in contentious matters.
  • 6-8 years' PQE with substantial international arbitration experience across multiple sectors.
  • Strong case management skills, with experience supervising and leading junior lawyers.
  • A dedicated arbitration background in a recognised law firm is preferred.
  • Oral advocacy experience before international tribunals is an advantage.
  • Commercially minded, proactive and confident in managing client expectations.
  • Demonstrated interest in business development and practice growth.
  • A postgraduate qualification in international arbitration, international law or dispute resolution is desirable.
