Job Description

Training & Technical Expertise

  • Act as a source of legal and practical expertise, mentor junior lawyers, and design and deliver training programmes, seminars, and workshops.



Current Awareness & Thought Leadership

  • Monitor and communicate key developments in international trade and customs law. Prepare newsletters, client alerts, and thought leadership pieces, and contribute to business development initiatives.



Knowledge Management

  • Draft, update, and manage standard forms and practice notes. Implement processes for capturing and sharing know-how across the group and firm.



Innovation & Collaboration

  • Support the rollout of new knowledge and technology systems. Contribute to global projects that enhance efficiency and collaboration.



Additional Support

  • Respond to fee earner queries, attend global and regional meetings, and stay up to date with industry developments.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified lawyer in England & Wales or an EU Member State.
  • At least six years' post-qualification experience.
  • Strong background in international trade and customs law, gained in private practice, government, or in-house.
  • Excellent drafting, research, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to influence policy and deliver projects.
  • Proactive, flexible, and collaborative, with strong IT skills and an interest in innovation.
