Job Description

The Legal Counsel (Data Protection & Compliance) will:

  • Provide legal advice on privacy and data protection matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Be instrumental in supporting the marketing teams with regards privacy implications within creative campaigns.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate data protection and privacy-related contracts and agreements.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training related to data protection and privacy.
  • Conduct impact assessments and advise on risk management strategies.
  • Manage the compliance frameworks.
  • Draft and implement new compliance policies.
  • Support on competition matters.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address data protection concerns and support business objectives.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Counsel (Data Protection & Compliance) will be/have:

  • A qualified solicitor in England & Wales
  • Strong background in legal practice, with a focus on privacy and data protection law.
  • Proven experience in advising on regulatory compliance within the business services industry.
  • A solid understanding of relevant data protection laws, including GDPR, PECR.
  • Solid corporate compliance understanding.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage complex legal issues effectively.
